 Required Documentation for Repatriation of Deceased from the United Kingdom
Please be advised that in order to arrange for the transport of a deceased individual from the United Kingdom to an overseas destination, the following standard documentation is required:
1.      Death Certificate
– To be provided by the Next of Kin.
2.      Photographic ID and Signed Letter of Authorisation from the Next of Kin
– This must clearly state their relationship to the deceased and authorise the funeral director to act on their behalf.
3.      Out of England (OOE) Order
– Issued by the Coroner for legal clearance to repatriate the deceased outside the UK.
4.      Embalming Certificate
– To confirm that the deceased has been properly embalmed for international transport.
5.      Free from Infection Certificate (FFI)
– To certify that the deceased does not pose a public health risk.
6.      Funeral Director’s Declaration
– A formal statement declaring the details of the repatriation, including confirmation that all documentation is in place.
7.      Passport or Travel Document of the Deceased
– If available, this assists with clearance in the receiving country.
